Our vision should comprehend all mankind, all nations, societies and communities. Man is our theme of devotion and He is our mainfield of worship!

HIS HOLINESS HAZRAT KHWAJA SYED NIZAMUDDIN AULIA
Mehboob-e-Elahi; Sultan–ul-Mashaikh (R.A)
(1238 A.D. to 1325 A.D.)

4. Glories of His Holiness

It is by deeds, words and conduct a Sufi lives an ethical example. They attempt to bridge the big gap between orthodoxy and religion of faith and devotion. They won the hearts of the people by their love and liberalism, sincerity of purpose, charity, piety and social service. They exercised considerable influence on Kings, officials and nobles for the welfare of the people.

The mission of Sufis saints has been "to make the man a perfect human being!" As the Prophet (SAW) says, "I have sent you to make a perfect mankind."

His Holiness said:

"To call the people towards Allah Tala (God) and to show righteous way to them is the way of the Prophets."

Experience in dealings with cross sections of people endowed His Holiness, Mehboob-e-Elahi a deep insight into human nature. His Holiness spiritual knowledge (Ilme-ladduni) was vast and very deep. Even the Ulema, (known for their enmity towards Sufis) were amazed at his discourses. His Holiness was the master of the Sufi method of instruction by the use of ancedote.

Since the dawn of history, India has been the cradle of religious movements. The Indo-Muslim strands have woven into the texture of India’s national existence: a new design of composite secular culture, by intervening the threads of the Bhakti Marg with the Islamic Sufi (Mystic) traditions. Thus created a new intercultural secular synthesis in which the values of mankind reflected a new ethos.

His Holiness, Sultan-ul-Mashaikh was impressed by all religions which showed a common non-discriminatory attitude. Although His Holiness main concern was to ameliorate the conditions of Muslims along with the concern and care for Hindus. To His Holiness, Islam was not an empty round of prayers and ritual, but a highly ethical code and a way of life.

The contacts of Hindu Yogis in Baba Farid’s (R.A) Khanqah left an indelible mark on His Holiness mind. This made His Holiness open to all religions!

Once His Holiness was strolling with Hazrat Amir Khusro (R.A) on the roof of his Jamat Khana from where he sighted a group of Hindus worshiping. Greatly impressed with their devotion he remarked to Khurso:

"Every community has got a way, a religion and sacred place to worship."

Forbearance and peaceful relations between people were qualities which the His Holiness constantly thought. His Holiness Jamat Khana was open to all-Yogis, Sadhus, Qalanders and others.

Hazrat Amir Khusro (R.A) says that the faith and belief of Hindus and Mulims are similar. Both believe in Oneness of Allah Tala (God). The Existence, the Eternity of God. And also Allah Tala (God) Power to create all after death.

His Holiness said that the Sufis believe that Allah Tala (God) reveals His Secrets to His lovers. God gives insight to His lovers, so that they understand the reality of the whole universe. This increases their intensity of love to such an extent that they yearn to see Almighty Allah Tala (God) and forget everything else! Knowledge of the divine mysteries can be attained through love and lovers participate in the life of God and see Him. The lover of God is gifted with peerless, remarkable, divine attributes and mysterious godly powers are also showered upon him. He can raise the dead. He can cut the moon into two pieces. He can make the sun rise from the west. But these are the secrets which wise men cannot conceive. Love alone, can make man understand the secrets of Allah Tala (God). Wisdom and intellect cannot!

His Holiness, Mehboobe-e-Elahi loving personality, depth of his teachings and spiritual rhythms, were highly appreciated by his contemporaries. In Ahmedabad, Daulatabad, Nagore, Maner, Ouch, Pandwa and everywhere His Holiness was highly respected. Hazrat Shaikh Ahmed Maghrabi (R.A) used to read and listen His Holiness teachings whole heartedly!

Hazrat Shaikh Ruknuddin Abul Fatah Multani (R.A) adored His Holiness. Hazrat Jalaluddin Bukhari Makhdoom Jahania (R.A) use to bow his head as a mark of respect. Hazrat Shaikh Makhdoom Jahan Sharfuddin Ahmad Yahya Manesi (R.A) of Firdausi Order use to say in his assemblies, that His Holiness, Hazrat Mehboob-e-Elahi stands in that pinnacle of state, that, for him awakening and sleeping has no distinct. Hence this state is the supernatural and can be achieved only by Allah’s grace!

Hazrat Amir Khusro (R.A) his dearest disciple said that His Holiness existence is not created by mud and water but it is created by kneading the elements of Khizer and Maseeh.

The Heads of the other Orders of Sufism viz Maghrabi, Abul Ulai, Firdausi, Suharwardi etc., all praised His Holiness great personality and glory.

Hazrat Amir Khusro (R.A) on the glory of His Holiness said that:

"Like the coverage of the blue sky the blessings of my Mehboob-e-Elahi (R.A) sheltered both friends and foe."
"On JINS and INS (human beings)
Ruled Nizamuddin Mehboob-e-Elahi."

Hazrat Mir Khurd says:

"Muslims, Hindus, Christains and Sikhs all make the dust of His Holiness darbar as the crown of their heads."
